Three people were killed in a recent head-on collision that also left one other injured. According to Pennsylvania authorities, the driver believed to have caused the fatal accident was among those who died. Speeding is believed to have been a factor in the wreck.
A police officer happened to be at the scene at the time of the wreck and witnessed what happened. According to the officer, a driver behind the wheel of an SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed as they approached a five-way intersection. As the SUV driver tried to follow a curve in the road, they lost control and drifted into oncoming traffic. The SUV then collided head-on with a minivan.
The SUV driver and one of his or her passengers died while still at the scene of the accident. Another passenger was transported to an area hospital, where he or she was listed in critical condition. The driver of the minivan was the only person inside the vehicle and was trapped inside the van after the collision. They were also pronounced dead while still at the site of the accident.
Dealing with the unexpected loss of a loved one is never easy, but matters can be much more complicated when the death is the result of another person’s negligence. Pennsylvania families have to address things like unexpected funeral costs, lost income and much more while also grieving. After a fatal accident such as this, a family may choose to pursue compensation on behalf of their loved one by filing a wrongful death suit against the at-fault driver.
