Biography
Brian Patrick Bronson is an associate of the firm and concentrates his practice in the areas of Social Security Disability, ERISA, and Disability Insurance (Long-Term and Short-Term Disability Claims). Brian understands how long and short term disabilities insurances are governed by ERISA (the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974), as well as how they can interact with and affect other benefits. If your case is subject to ERISA, there are mandatory appeal procedures and regulations that must be followed precisely. Failure to properly follow the ERISA procedures and regulations, including the timely filing of an administrative appeal, may result in the loss of the right to file a civil action.
Brian is the son of two educator parents, who both served long and distinguished careers with the Greater Latrobe School District and the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit #7. He is a graduate of Greater Latrobe High School and was twice selected as an All-Conference Football Player, with a First Team All-Quad South Selection in 1994. Brian also served as the President of the Pennsylvania Junior Classical League from 1993-1994. He was a member of the Westmoreland Youth Symphony, where he was a violinist and was selected for the All-District Orchestra on two separate occasions. Brian also received the honor of being selected to play in a televised Side-by-Side concert with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the direction of the renowned Lorin Maazel.
Brian received his J.D., cum laude, from Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University (formerly Duquesne University School of Law). He earned the C.A.L.I. Award in the subject of Criminal Law and wrote numerous articles for the Duquesne Law Review. Brian earned his B.S. from Bucknell University, where he was a three-time letter winner on the Varsity Football Team participating in the NCAA-Division 1-AA Patriot League. He was twice selected as the Player of the Game for his performances against Cornell University and Towson University. In 1998, Brian received the George Rieu Award given to the most outstanding linebacker or defensive lineman. Brian was also a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity-
Brian is a member of the Westmoreland County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), and the Ned J. Nakles American Inn of Court. Brian has attended the American Conference Institute’s National Forum on Litigating Disability Insurance Claims and the annual NOSSCR national conventions. Brian also lends his talents to the community, participating in Operation Standby, which assists the JAG Corps in providing representation to Armed Services personnel and having served on the board of directors of Laurel Legal Services, Inc., an organization that provides free civil representation to low-income citizens.
Brian has been selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2010-2012 and as Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2024 to present.
Brian is a lifelong resident of Unity Township and currently resides in East High Acres with his wife, Liznelia; his two sons, Bradan Padraic and Brody Quinn; and a daughter, Brooklyn. Brian’s wife Liz is a Registered Nurse with the Veteran’s Administration and works at the VA hospital located in Monroeville. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Brian is a member of the National Rifle Association. He still enjoys sports and plays in the Latrobe Derry Over 40 Baseball League.
